Project Overview

This blog relates to the final project of the Spring 2013 semester of AVT 101 at George Mason University.  In it, we were assigned to research a modern artist both vertically and laterally.

In this case, vertical research relates to the artist that was assigned–information about their background, their works, and other things that might be interesting about them.  Lateral research, on the other hand, were topics that seemed interesting as they came up in the course of the research.  We were to take the research as far as we were interested in the topic, and provide a reflective statement on the overall material.

For this blog, the artist I chose was John Maeda, current president of the Rhode Island School of Design.
